We at Quirky Races aim to put on our own events which of course will have the most original and unique concepts we can come up with. We have lots of ideas and intend to make as many of them happen as possible
Quirky Races Easter Chocolate Run – 10/04/22
Back for another year, The more you run the more chocolate you earn! Run as many half mile laps as you like in one hour. You will get chocolate at the end of each lap but whether you run one or 20 laps you’ll earn a bespoke Easter themed medal at the end. You can take breaks between laps if you wish. A great fun yet challenging run for all ages. Free photos, free parking & free entry into the Easter fete which will run along side the run.

11am- Easter fete and run registration opens
11.45am- Run warm up
12pm- Run starts
1pm- Run finishes (you can finish the lap you’re on)
3pm- Fete ends
The course is all on grass around the playing fields.

08/12/19 – Quirky Christmas Mince Pie Run
Back for a fourth year. Come and celebrate Christmas the Quirky Races way – Run 5k, eat 5 mince pies!
Set in the grounds of Billing Aquadrome Holiday Park participants will run (or walk) 5km while stopping off to consume a mince pie every kilometer. This is a fun run for all the family. If you don’t want to eat all the pies that’s up to you. You can run straight past or take them with you for later but if you do then we salute you, you’re a true quirky racer! Under 16’s must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
We encourage all participants to dress in Christmas attire. Full Santa suits, reindeers, snowmen, Christmas jumpers etc. will all be welcomed with open arms. Every entry gets at Santa hat at the start and a Christmas themed medal at the finish.
Registration will take place inside the fully heated Venue building where food and drink will also be available both before and after. The run will start at 10.30am and we advise everyone to arrive at least 45 minutes beforehand. There is a £5 fee paid at the barrier to bring a car into the park.

01/11/19 – Quirky Races Hallowine Run
Back for a third successive year the Quirky Races Hallowine Run provides 5 spooky 1km laps in the dark including going through the ghostly woods with some scary surprises along the way all made a little less frightening by a glass of wine for Dutch courage after each lap and ending with your choice of a glow in the dark medal or a bottle of special event labeled wine for all survivors!
7.30pm start. £17.50 gets you run entry, glow stick, free parking, 4 glasses of wine on route and a medal or a bottle or wine at the finish. We are offering an extra 20% off until the end of July using code ‘EARLYBIRD20’. ONLY 75 PLACES AVAILABLE!
The route is all on grass and trail and will be marked with glow sticks and marshals dressed up to give you a surprise along the way. Halloween themed fancy dress is hugely encouraged and a torch is mandatory for all participants.
There is a fully licensed permanent indoor bar at the venue (The Obelisk Centre) where we’d love to see everyone for a drink afterwards. Every lap will start and finish inside a huge marquee.
Due to this run involving alcohol it’s for strictly over 18’s only.
14/04/19 – Quirky Races Easter Chocolate Run
After a successful first year‘s running we returned to the Obelisk Centre for Easter 2019. The more you run the more chocolate you earn! Run as many half mile laps as you like in one hour. Chocolate at the end of each lap.

Every entry got at Santa hat at the start and a Christmas themed medal at the finish.
26/10/18 – Hallowine Run
5 spooky 1km laps in the dark including going through the ghostly woods with some scary surprises along the way all made a little less frightening by a glass of wine for Dutch courage after each lap and ending with a glow in the dark medal for all survivors!
The trail route is marked out with glow sticks, Halloween lights and marshals dressed up to give you a surprise along the way. Every lap starts and finishes inside a huge marquee.
This year we introduced even more running through the woods to add to the experience.
18/08/18 – Strongman Run
We hosted a special Strongman Run timetrial event at the Family Fun Day at the Obelisk Centre in Northampton.
A 200m course involving 3 runs up and down a steep hill carrying either a sandbag or a tyre then 3 burpees and a sprint to the finish line. There was a live leaderboard throughout the day with free entry to one of our future events for the fastest man, woman, boy and girl.
31/03/18 – Quirky Races Easter Chocolate Run

December 2017- Christmas virtual Run for The Lewis Foundation
This was another chance for anyone who missed our Christmas Mince Pie Run to get thier hands on the fabulous glittery Santa medal and raise some funds for the amazing charity, The Lewis Foundation at the same time. There was also an alternative running Santa medal on offer for anyone who did the Mince Pie Run. All that was required was to run 5KM while doing something quirky.
100% of entry fees for this run went directly to the charity. The Lewis Foundation provides gift packs to patients receiving cancer treatment at the Talbot Butler Ward at Northampton General Hospital.
We had some great entries including a backwards running 5km, a parkrun conga, a solo mince pie run and a bride and groom/ stag and hen parkrun effort.
03/12/17- Quirky Christmas Mince Pie run
Run 5k, eat 5 mince pies! our second annual event. New venue, same great run. This year we moved to Billing Aquadrome holiday and hosted our biggest event yet. welcomed with open arms. This is a fun event for all the family. Every entry gets at Santa hat at the start and a Christmas themed medal at the finish.
28 /10/17- Hallowine Run
4 spooky half mile laps including going through the ghostly woods with some scary surprises along the way all made a little less frightening by a cup of blood (wine) for Dutch courage before each lap and ending with a bottle of wine to take away with you, that’s assuming you make it out alive!
Glow sticks, free parking, 4 glasses of wine on route and a good quality bottle of special event labeled wine at the finish.
The course was 2 miles long set over 4 half mile laps with a glass of wine at the start of each lap. The route was marked with fairy lights and glow sticks with marshals dressed up to give you a surprise along the way.
18/06/17- The Northampton Buggy Run
The Northampton Buggy Run offers a unique chance for parents/ carers to run/ race with their children while pushing them in their buggies/ pushchairs with a whole field of like minded people all doing the same thing. We believe this is the first ever event of it’s kind in the UK. BOTH ADULT AND CHILD WILL RECEIVE A FINISHERS MEDAL!
The course is 5km in distance and is a one lap route all on smooth flat concrete paths within Billing Aquadrome holiday park. It is all accessible for spectators with the first mile and last 1km all within view from the main event area
